This Christmas Tree Bread recipe is a wonderful treat to make for your family or friends this holiday season. Use the dough of your choosing, and decorate with marachino cherries and green glaze.

Ingredients:
Dough:

  • 2 T yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 t. salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 4 cups flour

Cream Filling:

  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 3 T flour
  • 1 t.vanilla
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • green food coloring, optional
  • maraschino cherries, halved
