You have to be prepared to make these. So the night before (when your making the mix) pop your ice cream maker in the freezer.
First we are going to make a simple syrup. Take the sugar and the water and put it in a small pot on the stove over medium heat. Stir with a whisk until the sugar is melted and the liquid is clear. No need to simmer or boil, this is a fast process. Take off the heat and let sit out or in the fridge until completely cooled.
When the syrup is cooled take the strawberries and save 5 and however many more for garnish.
With the remaining strawberries cut off the stems and if needed for your blender cut into large chunks and place in blender with 2 cups of the syrup. Blend this until there are no lumps. Place this in the fridge overnight AT LEAST. You could leave it in there for a day or two if you wanted to make it in advance for a party.
When you are ready for the drinks take out your ice cream maker. Pour the strawberry mix as is into the maker and let it churn all the way.
While it is churning chop up the remaining strawberries (except the ones you are saving for garnish), you want them in very small chunks.
At the VERY END pour in the alcohol and add the strawberry chunks. Let this mix for a minute or so so everything is combined nicely.
Serve in glasses with the strawberry garnish!!!
If you want to have a more frozen consistency let it sit once again overnight in the freezer with either plastic wrap over it or scoop it out into an airtight container.[/expand]
